Recently happened to see the G3 Live in Concert DVD. G3 are Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson & Steve Vai. I have heared Joe Satriani, even my guitar master, Robin, suggested me Joe's lessons. And he is the Guitar God for me.
His fingering, wow, a great style. And his rapid take of the leads, wow, he is ultimate. And the passages he plays between bars are quick and smart. Arrangements of chords too. He is really dam soloist. He inspires me, to work hard with my guitar.
Other than him, Eric Johnson and Steve Vai did not sound to me outstanding. Still they are great music and I liked their music too. Eric was playing soft and in the middle octaves. While Steve & Joe most of the time, roam arround the higher & lower octaves.
Though time plays a significant role in analysing the music and sharing with people, I'm not good enough to analyse / comment on music. May be need to equipe myself more, to be able to research the musics.
